OT- goddamned power

my power was out for 22 hours. a really nasty storm hit here last night..there were powerlines and trees down on my boyfriend's road, a tree got struck by lightning and another one got blown down onto someone's car where I work, and the traffic lights all went nuts. 6,000 people in my area were without power, and 75,000 people in and around louisville are without power as well. they're saying some won't have any power for up to four days.

Aren't we supposed to be the most industrialized nation in the world? This happens all the time where I live too.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">yeah..our power isn't as bad as it used to be. it used to go out for hours if it was just really windy outside. One year, we got three feet of snow, and the power went out for five days. In the dead of winter. The roads were uncleared for two or three days because they just didn't have enough equipment to go around.

The storm last night was really bad, though. The lightning was the worst. It started at about 8:30, and didn't stop until 3:00 AM..it was hitting really close every few seconds, even after the rain, wind, and thunder had stopped.

heck cable tv used ta be like that, ya sneeze and out it went. I think the same front hit here also 9 or 10 pm don't quite remember. Glad to see your electric is back on though.
